Ingredients:
8 oz macaroni pasta
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Bread crumbs (optional topping)
Optional Ingredients: Bacon bits, diced ham, vegetables (peas, broccoli).
Preparation Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cook macaroni according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
Gradually whisk in milk 1 and cook until sauce thickens.
Stir in shredded cheese, salt, and pepper.
